Initialize and start DataPorch before using the plugin:
dataporch secrets init
dataporch runThe plugin’s MCP declaration starts dataporch mcp over stdio. The adapter
forwards MCP messages through the owner-only local Unix socket and reads the
runtime credential from protected local state. No token creation, shell
export, or manual claude mcp add command is required. The runtime must
already be running; dataporch mcp does not start it.
For a client that needs the HTTP transport instead, see direct HTTP MCP authentication.
